“Intersection Brings Together Orange County’s Art Enthusiasts to Appreciate the Fusion of Fashion and Art”

The “Intersection” event has come and gone and I am grateful to Neiman Marcus Fashion Island for hosting me and sharing my private collection. Last week, the Mariposa Restaurant in Neiman Marcus was transformed into a destination for art enthusiasts to experience the intersection of fashion and art.

Guests sipped champagne, savored delectable amuse-bouches and mingled as they reveled in my art collection.

My collection is a result of many years of curating modern, unique and provocative pieces from around the world. In addition to those, I chose to showcase 24 pieces of my own work.

My personal artistic style was born out of my affinity for abstract impressionism, surrealism, and as my own art evolved, I expanded my collection to include pieces from featured artists like the ones you see below.

During the show, two of my original pieces were sold, including Carmel 2, a 2002 watercolor on ink paper as well as Walking on Water, a 2006 watercolor on acrylic paper.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Neiman Marcus team on “Intersection.” If you were not able to join us and you wish to learn more about the pieces presented at “Intersection,” please visit my gallery page.  Until next time!

                               Exclusive Preview of Intersection

Neiman Marcus Fashion Island will showcase select pieces from my collection on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in its Mariposa Restaurant. You may be wondering which pieces have been selected for this show.

Well...

The 41 pieces I selected for the Intersection art show were by no means random choices. Twelve of these pieces are from world-renowned artists like Marc Quinn. Quinn’s sculptures explore the relationship between art and science, the human body, and the perception of beauty, among other things, which is what makes his art so intriguing. Two of Quinn’s sculptures, Crystal World and Golden Column, will be prominently displayed at the event.

In addition to collecting art, I also enjoy creating my own. My goal is for each piece that I create to not only challenge people's thought processes, but to also lead them on a journey to find meaning in both the piece and their own lives. Twenty-nine of my original creations will be featured at the event including some of my newest additons, “I’d Do Anything for Love” and “Murder for a Jar of Red Rum.”

Now that you have seen a preview, it is my hope that you join me for this highly anticipated event to witness my passion firsthand. Besides, who doesn’t love complimentary hors d'oeuvres and champagne?

Welcome to Marina4Art.com!

Welcome to the Marina4Art.com website. This site has been a vision in the making for the last few years, so thank you for coming on this journey with me.

Marina4Art.com is designed to showcase and sell my private collection of modern, unique and provocative art pieces from around the world. After spending many years in the art world, constantly evolving, it was important for me to share my passion with other collectors. My vision for Marina4Art.com is to create a place where both enthusiasts and those new to the art community can come and find pieces that they enjoy and that help them on a journey to find meaning in both the piece and their own lives.

This website serves as an intimate glimpse into my world, as all of the pieces in my eclectic collection are hand-selected and ultimately chosen, by me.

The catalyst for Marina4Art.com was derived from my own experiences as an artist and collector. I was born and raised in Russia and attended the University of Moscow, where I earned my master’s degree in fine arts in 1992. Feeling the need to spread my artistic wings, I moved to New York City in 1992 and then to West Hollywood in 1994. Through my transition, my own artistic style evolved, weaving in abstract impressionism with influences of surrealism. Over the last decade, my own work, in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media has evolved again from abstract impressionism to a direction uniquely my own.

I hope that you’re able to connect with this collection because as an artist I want for my work to not only change people’s thought processes, but also ignite conversation and I certainly look forward to starting that conversation with you.
